Classes at Yoga 101 are all-level classes. We teach to the potential of the class, allowing each student to be their best. We encourage students to explore what is possible, and we will help you make modifications when needed.
Hot 26
Step into the ultimate hot yoga experience with Hot 26, a structured and intensely focused class following the original 26-posture sequence from Bikram hot yoga. Each class includes two sets of nearly every pose, demanding both mental discipline and physical endurance. This class is a true test of strength, flexibility, and focus, making it an excellent starting point for your hot yoga journey while providing a continuous challenge for even the most experienced practitioners. While beginners are welcome, expect to sweat, push your limits, and build resilience in one of the most rigorous classes we offer. (This class follows a set sequence.)
Classic 101
Inspired by the teachings of Bikram, Jimmy Barkan, and Tony Sanchez, this structured class is designed to help students build confidence and body awareness. Classic 101 provides a solid foundation, allowing participants to develop a deeper understanding of postures while continuously challenging themselves. (This class follows a set sequence.)
Fusion
Take your practice to the next level with Yoga Fusion, a powerful and challenging class that blends strength-building postures from various yoga styles. This class places a special emphasis on upper body endurance, incorporating arm balances, core engagement, and dynamic transitions to build total-body strength. While accessible to all levels, Fusion is designed to push practitioners beyond their comfort zones, offering modifications and advanced variations for those ready to explore. No two classes are the same, ensuring a fresh and invigorating challenge every time you step on your mat.
Silent Hot 26 & Silent Fusion
Designed for students who have attended at least five Classic 101 or Fusion classes, this class is led by an instructor with minimal verbal cues. Silent Hot 26 follows the Hot 26 sequence, while Silent Fusion follows the Fusion series, offering a peaceful and meditative experience that encourages inward focus. 🚫 New students are not permitted in this class. To maintain the integrity of the "silent" environment, prior experience is required.
Power Yoga
Rooted in Baptiste-inspired power vinyasa, this dynamic and physically challenging class follows the Journey Into Power sequence—a continuous flow of postures designed to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. The fast-paced, warm environment encourages students to explore their physical and mental boundaries, making it an invigorating and empowering practice.
Slow Power Yoga
A slowed-down approach to our Baptiste-inspired power vinyasa, this class loosely follows the Journey Into Power sequence but focuses on slow, intentional movements to open the hips, shoulders, and spine. This balanced, accessible practice is perfect for beginners or anyone looking for a more mindful and controlled approach to building strength and flexibility.
Gentle Power Yoga
This class emphasizes the foundations of hatha yoga, focusing on alignment, balance, flexibility, and strength in a powerful yet accessible way. Unlike traditional power yoga, there is no vinyasa or flow, making it an excellent option for those who prefer a more deliberate, grounding practice.
Deep Stretch & Restore
A blend of Yin and Restorative yoga, this class is designed to deeply stretch the body, release tension, and promote full-body relaxation. Long-held postures allow for deep myofascial release, making this the perfect complement to an active lifestyle or power-based practice.
Chair Yoga
Designed for accessibility at any level, this class utilizes a chair for support in both standing and seated postures. No floor-based poses are included, making it ideal for those with limited mobility or anyone looking for a gentle, supportive way to build strength and flexibility.
*Meditation
EPY makes its space available to the local Tibetan Buddhist group Kunzang Chöling of Evansville for meditation and other practices. Alan McCoy leads the group, which has operated in Evansville for over 14 years. You do not need to be Buddhist to attend—but it is Buddhist practice. The group meets most Sundays from 10:30am—11:30am.x
